Abstract
Mycosis fungoides is a relatively rare and slowly progressive malignant disorder,
initially manifest as skin disease, with a fatal outcome.
A number of recent autopsy series exposed the common nature of the systemic spread
of this malignancy. Pulmonary involvement in this disorder has been noted in anecdotal
reports. The lungs are the most common site of extranodal involvement and
dissemination of mycosis fungoides to the lung heralds a poor prognosis.
We report an 51-year-old women who had a fatal outcome due to mycosis fungoides
with pulmonary involvement, diagnosed by pleural fluid cytology and pleural biopsy.
